Hi Anandi,

In VA 7.3, the SVY21 is not supported. You have to convert the SVY21 points to WGS84 format.

I believe, you can use SAS GPROJECT procedure to do this conversion.

In the next release of SAS VA, we plan to address this issue to support SVY21.

Few things to check:

* If you are in a intranet of the VA environment, you can try connecting to VA by entering the credentials.

* If you are not on the intranet, you can use VPN to the VA server and then use the app to connect to the VA.

* Check the port number. are you using the correct port number?

* Check if the server is set to SSL. if so, you need to enable "Secure connection" and provide the correct port number.

* Is the Blacklist enabled on the VA server? is your device blacklisted? you can verify using the Admin "Device management".

* Try connecting to another VA environment, if you have access. Just to verify if the issue is with this VA environment.

* Do you have any iOS device? if so, you can try from that.

If you still have difficulty in connecting, I encourage to enter a Tech support track or call Tech support.

What's new in SAS Visual Analytics 7.3: HTML5-based web viewer

There are lots of new features in SAS Visual Analytics 7.3, and the community will post a series of articles calling them out. To begin, let’s take a look at what looks different in the new HTML5-based web viewer - a feature that you've already shown interest in.

SAS Visual Analytics 7.3 will present the HTML5 based web viewer as the default.

Some new features and differences you can see in the HTML5 viewer compared to the flash viewer are as follows:

Recent page – You can see and open recently used reports. This page also has a Search box to find the report from a list of recently opened reports. Example:

Opened items – (open multiple reports but view one at a time) – You now have access to multiple reports at one time. These reports are cached so you can open the report immediately with no delay. Example:

Section Navigation – Navigate each section by using a drop down button/icon found on the top left. Example:

Auto Report refresh – You now have the ability to set the report to auto refresh. Example:

Appearance setting. This screen lets you choose the best appearance for your project. “Classic” signifies Flash-based viewer; “Modern” represents HTML-based web viewer.

Here’s an example of the print dialog in the HTML5 web viewer:

Browser support – The SAS Visual Analytics 7.3 hub and viewer are supported on the following browsers:

Chrome
Firefox
Safari
IE – 11 (only)

For browsers that are not compatible for HTML5, like IE9, IE10, the viewer will default to the Flash based web viewer.

ON mobile devices, users will be redirected to “SAS Mobile BI” native application.

The ability to save user state is planned for future release. We plan to support more than just filter value selections, but save other user interactions like drill state, zoom state, in the web and mobile viewers.

Hi Avinesh,

I agree that setting conditional grants for 750 individuals will be lot of work. Conditional grant with row level security in VA, can set the filter on groups and on individual users. Can the 750 users be put into groups? If so, the conditional grant can be set on groups and the work can be dramatically reduced.

Also, how frequent you may need to change the User/Region info? For a less-frequent-change scenario, grouping can be useful. Since conditional grant is set on group and not the individuals, the users can be moved across the groups without having to change the settings. For a more-frequent-change scenario, some type of script may be necessary to maintain the frequent changes for a big volume of user groups.

Report scheduling will honor row level security and the reports can be distributed in a PDF format and not an excel doc as mentioned in the thread.

SAS Visual Analytics comes with Web Viewer. This is a flash based web viewer. If your Java app can embed a web viewer, this is a choice. Some customers and some applications internally at SAS, have done this way.
