Migration SAS9.2 to 9.3

Hi All,

Can anyone point me to resources available for migration, we have to migrate from SAS9.2 to 9.3. what are the steps involved. Does SAS supports for migration?

Is it same as license renewal or same as migration from Development to Production servers.

Please share your thoughts.

Customize layout from Stored Procedures

Hi All,

I am creating a report where user has to select values using Stored Procedures

and when i click on STP, the page displayed will be of SAS controlled

webpage.i want to arrange all the prompts(length of prompts) and have

dependencies on each prompt. How can i customize,can anyone please point me to

SUGI papers or resources.

All i want is to beautify the page ,when i click on Stored Process the web

page should be with neat prompts which are arranged sequentially rather than

the web page developed from SAS.

I have attached the sample look of webpage, please help me in designing ,so that when i click on the stored process i should be able to view the page where user can find more of customized look and feel

I am able to read that file using sqlite , i can query and see the results , if you want to check me on UNIX , i will do it tomorrow and reply back.

ERROR READING .DB FILE

Hi All,

I am trying to read a .db file using proc import. i am using sas9.2 and SAS

Access is also installed, i always get an error as:

Disk Read Request Error

ERROR: Import unsuccessful. See SAS Log for details.

When i googled i found that there is a hotfix for this error and i have

installed the hotfix, but still i have the same error.

Here are the details for HOTFIX:

Basically we are scheduling on unix server using TWS(TIWOLI WORKLOAD

SCHEDULER) and i was given a file which is created by tws. the file is .db

extension and the file consists information of job run times, of previous two

months and current month.Based on the file i have to generate report

comparing execution time of jobs of previous and current months.so now my question

is has anyone ever used .db file created by TWS. does TWS really create a

.db file or else while i have moved to my local system did format got

changed.If anyone has ever used such file from TWS,please give your inputs

as how to read the file.

Did you get chance to create pivot tables using ods tagsets.tableeditor and in that case it creates a HTML file,when i click that it then generates pivot table,so it works only on Windows,but i want to automate this on UNIX servers,in case if you have automated such process please let me know in detail.

Few things i have not understood -->

1) where does this call statements go? Does this call statements go into any shell script and then run?
2) Is it any VB code?

3) How do i have to change settings manually on UNIX server before executing the scripts,so that i dont get any popups or ActiveX warnings.

ODS + Excel

DDE works only on SAS windows,It will be not possible to run in batch mode.using DDE we can control the cell positions, if
i want to do the same thing without DDE ,how can i achieve it.Could any one of you plese explain a small example where
you have to write data on to same sheet, into different cell positions as macro values keep on changing.Please guuide me as how
i can do this.Are there any options in ODS.

Hi Cynthia,

I haven't raised any track with SAS Tech Support, i need many approvals before raising tarck to SAS tech support,so thats the reason why i have not raised any track.I am still using the same tagset and i am still working on the same issue.

I will try on UPDATE_TARGET option and check if it will be of any help.

The only problem is the file gets created but its not automated,i have to click either on activex popup or export button then the file gets created.so i thought if i can develop a code using javascript which will click the button once the page got loaded.

Hi All,

I have to automate a process,using ods tagset i am creating a pivot tables,after the code is run,i have to go to result viewer and clock on the tab to get excel file.can anyone of you please let me know how i can automate the proces.

I,e: after the page is loaded i want sas with HTML or Javascript to go and click the button on static page,so that there would be no necessity to manually click on the button,my file wouldbe ready after the Javascri[t code is executed.

Please give your thoughts.

HI Reeza,

IS that file creAted dynamically or else did you go To the result viewer and then press the create pivot table button.because even for me fle gets created only after pressing the button in result viewer.i want this to be automated because I will execute this code on PC SAS,and moreover all the code will be scheduled.

I want to add an action immediately after loading the page I,e I E so that the excel file gets created once the page is Loaded.

Hi Cynthia,

I have used AUTO_EXCEL="Yes" ,but still i am unable to get the excel file generated without touching the "export tab" from result viewer.I am using SAS9.2,do they mind if i contact them directly.All i need is, when pivot tables are generated they have to automatically get created into the respective folders without touching the Export Button,once the data is loaded it has to perform automatically,no manual intervention should take place.

I am using the below code ,when i run this code i am unable to create excel sheet,is it not possible to create excel sheet when we run ODStagsets+tableeditor options,or else do i have to click, export the reults from HTML page and then save it,what if i want to run the code in PC SAS,can anyone of you please help out.
