Hello,
I already reviewed the following threads:

Now the client's IT team might do away with IE completely (without giving us enough time to upgrade to the latest version of SAS 9.4M7).

@SASKiwi Yes. We did open a track with SAS Technical Support. They responded back with this article https://support.sas.com/kb/64/673.html. The other administrative issue is I am a contractor who joined the client recently. When I ran the Hotfix Report, I see a large number of hotfixes as not installed. I informed the same to the client. We are hoping that an upgrade to the newer version will mitigate the issue. In the interim, all I am doing is login to the SAS metadata server and restart the service.
We put in the keep_alive to fix some other SAS EG 7.1 issue. The actual location is - \<SASconfig>\LevN\SASMeta\MetadataServer\sasv9.cfg (doc is here -http://go.documentation.sas.com/doc/en/bicdc/9.4/biasag/n16001intelplatform00srvradm.htm#n16030intelplatform00srvradm).
SAS Metadata Errors

Hello,

We have been experiencing occasional SAS metadata errors ever since we put in a KEEP_ALIVE setting.

The SAS documentation talks about trying different interval settings (example 30 seconds) in order to avoid the metadata errors. The problem is this solution is too subjective and not 100% effective either. Just wondering if anyone else has faced a similar issue and was able to resolve it.
We are currently running sas 9.4M4 on Windows NT Server 2012 R2. All the 3 tiers (metadata, compute, middle-tier) are on separate servers. SAS EG is 7.13 HF5.

Thanks in advance!

We have SAS9.4M4 on Windows NT 2012 servers. Midtier, compute and metadata are all on separate servers. I tried to look up the past hotfixes but cannot run viewregistry utility in the /deploymentreg/ folder (either manually or from command line). Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hello SAS folks,

A few customers at my client location are experiencing issues while logging into SAS Studio. The way it works is, if the user logs first into IE (after desktop bootup) and then Chrome/Edge, the experience is seamless. But if the user logs first into Chrome/Edge (after desktop bootup), then he gets this error:

"Connection Error to Workspace: Unable to connect to the current workspace server. Select a different workspace error. org.springframework.web.client. Http client error exception: 400 bad request."

and sometimes this error:

"Connection Error to Workspace: the native implementation for the security package could not be found in this path".

Even after logging using the correct sequence, the user is complaining of involuntary timeout sessions after 4-5 hours.

Troubleshooting done so far -

1. Clear the browser cache and reattempt to login to SAS Studio

2. Clear the browse cache, reboot desktop and reattempt to login to SAS Studio

3. Add registry entries for Chrome/Edge to delegate user authentication and authorize SPNEGO as per this SAS article

https://documentation.sas.com/?cdcId=bicdc&cdcVersion=9.4&docsetId=bimtag&docsetTarget=p1871e69gmwdr0n1o182krslc10p.htm&locale=en

4. Change settings for firefox browser as per the article mentioned in #3.

5. Uninstall chrome/edge and reinstall browsers

did not help.

These steps were also done in order to ensure metadata privileges were correct

6. User was added to 2 SAS Studio related groups (SAS Studio usage and SAS report consumer roles).

These steps were also done as mentioned in the article in #3.

We opened a SAS support ticket but they kept going back to the link in #3.

i also tried to 1) restart object spawner and 2) clear spawner credentials cache using SAS MC but to no avail

I wanted to see if my client already installed hotfixes A4R004pt but the viewregistry file (in deploymentreg folder) will not run (for some reason) either from the command prompt or manually.

I ran the code (shared by @kalindpatel) from this thread https://communities.sas.com/t5/Administration-and-Deployment/Find-all-User-Accounts-with-an-Internal-Account-Defined/td-p/316867

but it did not return any internal services account (sassvcs@saspw). I only saw sastrust@saspw, webanon@saspw, sasadm@saspw,sasevs@saspw among others . I am scratching my head as to how the existing users were using SAS Studio previously.

The OS is Windows NT 2012 R2 Standard. Metadata, compute and midtier are on 3 separate servers. SAS is v9.4m3 and sas studio is v3.6.
When I peeked under the hood on the Windows servers,I did check for two things -

1. Which of the groups/accounts/users need to be allowed to 'log on as a batch user' privileges?

2. Which of the groups/accounts/users need to be listed in the Windows NT Users?

Re: Synchronize users between SAS Metadata and LDAP

1) Any update/resolution on this issue. From my past experience,

2) In the past, I found myself deleting SAS users manually in metadata who are no longer on the payroll. Would this fix automate this process?

3) What kind of backups do I need to do before trying this?

PS: Can we move this thread to SAS Administrators group from the programming group for more visibility ?

Thanks,

Hello SAS Folks! After 12+ years of experience as a SAS programmer, I took not having even a single certification as a personal challenge and an opportunity to grow. I took the old Base SAS Certification a few years back without any preparation and obviously failed it. Now after several weeks of preparation, I took both the foundation and Base SAS Performance exam and cleared both of them. Thank you to the SAS/Pearsonvue team to allow certification at home during this pandemic. Now I am working on the Advanced Performance test and borrowing a windows laptop since my macbook does not like the software that is used to run the new performance exams.
