The answer to your question is no, there is a distributed VA and a non distributed VA.

You can certainly asked for a non distributed VA for Test.

Have you tried the aggregate calc for the xtab, your CPV is a detailed calc versus in an xtab it grouped.

Without seeing the numbers and the difference I would start there if you haven't already.

Hey Bart,

You can embed the viewer into the portal or use links to the VA reports.

As you aren't sharing the metadata or mid tier, the users will most likely have to re-authenticate unless you have single sign on for both.

If you choose to share the metadata and mid tier the authentication issue disappears.

Hi Michelle,

We agree compression could help a lot to manage your memory consumption. Generally one would expect a tradeoff between storage and responsiveness. However, while we do not have any benchmarks to publish now, anecdotally from our experience we have found around 10-20+ compression depending on the data type, size, and columns types. Often with no significant difference in speed when creating or rendering basic report elements such as bar/line charts, crosstabs, sliders, etc. Some actions such as adding data can actually be faster while actions with some calculations such as in a scatter plot or box plot can be up to 2-3x slower (not bad for 20x memory usage improvement). The exact trade off equation depends on many factors including the make up of your daata, so we encourage you to run your own tests to decide when to take advantage of this new feature.

Hi rajisivarajan,

Can you provide some more detail around what you are trying to do.

In VA 7.1 releasing on October 7th a new info window, this is a section that is hidden and isn't shown to the user till they link to it. Depending on what you mean by condition you maybe able to link to different info windows. It's a neat way to hide sections from users.

Are you trying to build one large report with lots of sections with content specific to users or you want to layout things in sections for those specific users?

Hi Sanjeev,

If the version of VA you are using has the stacked container you can use that to toggle between French and English. You can then use a prompt or they can switch the stack container to get the language they desire.

Hey BStone,

There are a number of ways to do this, please feel free to call Tech Support as they can definitely assist you.

The question I have for you is, do you want CDH to be the co-located data provider? Or are just interested in pulling data from CDH in VA?

If its the first you can reload the data in CDH's HDFS, then you would have to change some config settings to point to CDH. Depending on what version of VA it maybe easier to upgrade and reconfigure.

If its the second then you just need Access to Hadoop.

Again I suggest contacting Tech Support.
