Can we customize SAS FM to load different forms from the different tables?

Hello All,

We are using SAS Financial Management5.5 on a Linux box.
Our team is not an expert in SAS FM.
We are heavily dependent on the SAS FM Admin guide and SAS FM Data Admin Guide.

Let me give you a little background:

We have two user groups 1) India 2) UK.

1) These group members should not be able to access other group's forms/data.
this can be achieved at Cycle level (am I correct?)

2) These two groups have different type of data/forms

As per our understanding, SAS FM reads data from table "GL_TRANSACTION_SUM" to populate the forms.
Can we customize SAS FM to load different forms from the different tables?

For Eg:
for US group forms/data can be populated from table "GL_TRANSACTION_SUM"
and for UK group different forms/data can be populated from table "GL_TRANSACTION_SUM_2".

Please let me know if there is a workaround

SAS Financial Management Form are not populating data

Hello All,

Product: SAS financial Management Studio

Custom version information: 5.5
Operating system: LIN X64

I have created Cycle, Dimension, Model, and created a Form to populate the data.

The data is populated in SAS FM table "GL_TRANSACTION_SUM".

Post selecting the cycle, I am trying to load data in the required period by right-clicking on period and selecting load data wizard, and also through the job is running fine.

But the data is not populating in excel workbooks/forms.

And all the cells in the Excel workbook are blank and the color is red (non-editable).

Please do let me know what other details are required.

Does SAS VIsual Investigator 10.6 supports other databases for scenarios?

Hello All,

I have worked on SAS VI 10.2 where it supported only the PostgreSQL database for the scenario tables on which you can run the scenario rules and generate alerts.

I want to know if it is possible to use another database for the scenario tables eg. MySQL ?

Optimize SQL Query

Hello All,

I am working on SAS version: 9.04.01M4P110916 which is hosted on RHEL 64bit.

I want to optimize a Proc SQL query.

The source data is in Hadoop and client has only SAS ACCESS FOR HADOOP connector.
The records in source table are 101730000.

Below is the SAS query:

PROC SQL;
RESET inobs=max outobs=max noflow nofeedback noprompt nonumber;
CREATE TABLE work.Test1 AS

select distinct From libname.table
Where column8 in ( value1,value2,value3,value4,value5,value6,value7,value8,value9,value10,value11,value12,value13,value14,value15,
value16,value17);
QUIT;

The current query execution time: 06mins

Please suggest is there anyway i can improve the efficiency (execution time) of above step.
