I created a WRS report that links to another tab in the same report. When users click on the link to go back to the original report the "changes to current report will not be saved window" always comes up. Always. I saved the report as read only.

Jaime,
I was able to duplicate the same issue. It's independant of whether the report is saved as read only or not.

I was looking through the configuration properties to see if there is something we can change to NOT prompt users to save changes to reports. http://support.sas.com/documentation/cdl/en/biwaag/63059/HTML/default/a003297752.htm

However, I am unable to locate anything currently documented. Anyone else have an idea?
The note states "This problem is most likely to occur if you passed prompt values other than the default values for the report." I'm trying to understand what 'default values for the report' might mean by attempting a couple of scenarios.

Anyone else have more detail?
It's actually strange. The linked report will not warn you about the changes the first time you run it right after the linked sheet is created. But after the second run it will. I am guessing the takes the first value passed to it as the default.

Hi all-

You should be able to deny WriteMetadata permissions to the second report (the one being linked to) so a user will not get this message. Keep in mind, as an administrator having WriteMetadata permissions, you will want to initially save the report with what would be considered the default values for the prompts.

This works perfectly. Especially in our production environment where NOBODY has the WriteMetadata ability.
