Non Data Item Filter or Prompt in Web Report

Hi,

Can we have non data item filter or prompt in web report studio?

For example, I need give users an option to group the report by day, week, month, etc.? I know that if it is using a cube as data source, they can just drill through the time dimension. But if I don't use a cube as data source, say just use an information map, can it still to be done?

I seem to remember a sample for this somewhere but I havent been able to quickly find it. Included is one that might work - creating a custom table of contents where the users could choose whether to look at day/wk/month - and it link to the section of the report with those columns in use.
