SAS VA 7.4 - How do I prevent a List Table Object from loading upon opening report?

Hello,

I have a SAS VA 7.4 report with 2 tabs. Each tab has a list table, each with its own data source.

These tables are linked together so when a record in Tab 1-List Table 1 gets clicked, it drills down to Tab 2-List Table 2 and displays a record.

The issue that I am having is that when the report first loads, it loads every record in the data source in both List Tables. This is expected behavior, however, I would prefer that List Table 2 on tab 2 NOT load every record. i want List Table 2 to be empty unless someone clicks on a row in List Table 1.

Is this possible?

Have you considered making the section with the second list table an Info Window? The Info Window would only display when the user makes a selection in the first list table.

If you have a prompt on the report then you can add a parameter to the report. Typically when a report opens, the parameter value is missing. Thus, you could add a filter to both List table that looks something like:

If MyParameter Missing then

1=0

else

1=1
