If you are using the same item as a filter and a category for a bar chart, that behavior would be expected.

I am trying to filter a bar graph in my dashboard using the contents selected from a list table. However, when I click the table the bar graph just reduces to one bar. I do not want that (the graph is being filtered by all the matching attributes between the list table and the bar graph) I want my graph to filtered based on one attribute that I have used in list table. Is it possible to do that?

if I remember, you just created a parameter from list. Use the same parameter to filter the bars in your bar chart instead of using interactions ..
