I hope all of you are doing good!

I´m scheduled to take the SAS Certified Visual Business Analyst: Exploration and Design Using SAS Visual Analytics exam, could anyone of you help with tips, materials and places where I can take test exams for this certification.

Any help will be appreciated!

Wishing you all the best for the exam. What preparation have you done so far?

There are no test exams availabe only a sample set at http://support.sas.com/certify/creds/samples/index.html I found the SAS Visual Analytics: Fast Track helped prepare me for the course as well my own self-study and experience using SAS Visual Analytics.

I´ve did the Visual Analytics Fast Track course and have the materials, I am thinking about doing it all again and watch the videos at the online learning.

On your self study which materials did you use?

Great to hear you have done the SAS Visual Analytics Fast Track course. I'd suggest going through the course again and also using a SAS Visual Analytics environment. I highly recommend to use SAS Visual Analytics and be familiar with the interface and how it works - get hands-on practice. This is the best form of self study.

As the exam is currently for SAS Visual Analytics 7.1, I'd also look at the 7.1 videos http://support.sas.com/training/tutorial/va71/ and user guide, http://support.sas.com/documentation/onlinedoc/va/index.html#va71

it is really a bit annoying that there is no book to learn for the SAS VA exam like there are books for SAS Base or Advanced.

Did anyone take the exam yet? How was it?

Hi Sven,

I understand your frustration in there not being a SAS Visual Analytics preparation exam book. I can understand why there may not be a book due to the 6 monthly release cycle of the product and updating course notes and software product documentation perhaps being a priority. I did the exam and found it to be a great exam to assess a practical understanding of using SAS Visual Analytics Data Builder, Explorer and Designer.

If you go through the preparation material as described in the replies above and have practical hands-on experience with the software you should be able to pass the exam.

Hi Sven!

I did the exam a few weeks ago and, fortunately I've passed.

All the advices given by Michelle helped me a lot, but I believe the most important thing is that I did the Visual Analytics Fast Track and used the materials of the course for my preparation.

You don´t need to take all the course again, there 3 main areas that you must know:

1 - Data Builder

2 - Data Explorer

3 - Data Designer

You don´t need to study the administration of the tool. I suggest, if it is possible, to take the course, and then review those three areas and I believe you can pass the exam.

Hi Lal,

There are no preparatory exam books for the SAS Visual Analytics exam. I think this may be due to the rapid development cycle of the product and a book could get out of date quickly. There was a specific exam for the 7.1 release and now the 7.3 release and I anticipate there may be a different exam for the next major release too. The SAS VA FastTrack course will prepare you well.

I'm looking for these files for doing some hands own in SAS VA, as part of preparation for certifcation.

SAS Visual Analytics : Fast Track might help you or you can buy books (Volume-1 and Volume-2) for practicing for SAS VA Exam.

For Atleast SAS VA, Don't go for exam until and unless you do practice enough. For SAS VA, good amount of Hands on is required to score weel.
