If you do access the XML, make sure not to modify it in any way. It is very easy to break the report if you make any changes to the XML.

Hello. I am using SAS Visual Analytics 7.5 and I cannot upgrade to Viya. I would like to know if the name of report objects (i.e. list table 1, crosstab 1), names of filters for data sources, and/or names of filters for report objects are saved somewhere in metadata. I am currently using the Metadata Browser in base SAS to search for these items but I have been unsuccessful. Thanks!

I believe that this information is available only in the XML for the reports.

Thanks, Madelyn. Is the XML accessible to me? If so, where can I find it?

I found a way to view it two different ways.

1) From SAS Management Console, find the report on the Folders tab and then go to Actions --> Write Content to External File

2) From VA Report Builder, use the shortcut CTRL+ALT+B
