Here's the end result:</P> <P>Before: 00SY1200</P> <P>After applying text operators to extract middle values: SY12</P> <P>So, with this new calculated item of 4 digit alpha-numeric values (eg. SY12, SY13), I want to use this as a left-join to another database (which has the 4 digit values and other relevant data).
