Graph with more than one measure line (frequency by year)

Hi everybody,

I'm a new user of SAS VA. I'm trying to replicate a simple Excel table and graph (attached). The table contains the exposure, number of claims and frecuency opened by the variable Gender and by year. I was able to create something similar with an aggregated measure for the frequency in VA.

The graph shows the exposure of the last year opened by the variable Gender, and the frequency of every year in each line of the graph. I'm not being able to create this kind of graph in VA. It seems that it's only possible to add one measure line.

I've read in some posts that this could be fixed with the Custom Graph Builder but I'm not able to create one. I think that the version I'm working with doesn't have that option.

I'm using this version:

Product Name: SAS® Visual Analytics

Version: 8.5.1

SAS® Viya® Version: V.03.05

Is there another solution or something that I'm missing?

Hello @julietacasares

This is totally possible to do, but you will need to use Custom Graph Builder. It is included in all the installations, but if you can't see Build Graphs in the left top corner Applications menu (the hamburger/pancakes menu), then you are missing user rights. You should to contact your SAS admin team and ask for appropriate user rights/role.

Another thing I would definitely do is adjust the data structure to be closer to analytical base table (ABT):

Using Graph Builder I took the Dual Axis Bar-Line Chart as basis and did slight adjustments such as added a new role Group to line chart and small visual things.

Have you tried the Dual Axis Bar-Line chart object?

@Madelyn_SAS Out of the box Dual Axis Bar-Line chart object allows only one Measure (line) and also lacks Group role. That is why one needs the custom made chart.
