topic Using a drop-down box crashes our report on an iPad SAS VA 7.5 in SAS Visual Analytics

Greetings,

We have several publicly available reports on our site. These require no logon to our SAS VA system. They have been functioning well, but trying them today there is a major issue. The reports load via Safari on an iPad, but when you attempt to use a drop-down box the report displays a message box titled "SAS Visual Analytics Viewer" with the message, "An error occurred. Please contact your system administrator." The details are in the attached document since I cannot copy them.

These are to be used in an upcoming Board of Trustees meeting in a week or so and have been working fine.

Here is a link to one of the reports if you would like to see it.;

https://sasprod.sfcollege.edu/SASVisualAnalyticsViewer/VisualAnalyticsViewer_guest.jsp?reportPath=%2FPublic%20-%20No%20Logon%2FFact_Book%2F&reportName=Fact%20Book%20Board%20of%20Trustees&reportViewOnly=true&ReportName=false&reportPath=false&appSwitcherDisabled=true&commentsEnabled=false&propertiesEnabled=false&reportViewOnly=true&reportContextBar=false

Thank you,

Gary

So here is what I found out; If Safari has "Request Desktop Site" turned on in Settings, the SAS Report will load, but not function.

Once I turned that off, the report opened the SAS BI app and loaded the report.

I thought HTML5 was supposed to stop that requirement, but here we are. I can at least get the Trustees to view the reports, but it will not be a pleasant experience explaining why and how to access these reports using an app that isn't all that friendly to non-technical people.

Thanks!
