Whether your map uses standard geographical overlays (countries, states, etc.) or is based on custom polygon boundaries - won't change the behavior. The geo map will always zoom to a level to show all data points (or regions). If you want to restrict the view to a particular region and auto-zoom the map to a more granular level - you can apply filters or setup interactivity as mentioned in my previous reply.

Hope this helps. Falko

We have been trying to add shape files for particular location, for which the locations were shown over the report, along with that entire world map was also added over it, Can some one guide me to freeze particular locations in area map and provide interactions to that?

Hello,

Can you clarify what you mean by "freeze particular locations"?

It sounds like you also want to add custom shape files to Visual Analytics. Have you had success in this?

Thanks,

We have actually tried to provide shapefiles to few locations, But
unfortunately, default template was selected as a world map, where we had
to navigate entire world map to view added shapefiles, I am particularly
looking to represent only added shape files over the dashboard.
If I understand correctly, you can display your custom geographic shapes, but the geo map does not automatically zoom in to show just the area that contains these shapes. Is that right?

A screenshot would be helpful to show us the problem.

Thanks,
Sam

Geographical maps in SAS Visual Analytics will always default to a zoom level which shows all available data points or region. You could consider having an interaction setup between another control or visualization to only filter regions of interest. If such filter interaction changes - the map should also automatically zoom to the desired area.

Alternatively - try the SAS Visual Analytics viewer application (top right menu -> view report). This application remembers the last zoom state in geographical maps. So if you pan/zoom to a desired area and close the report - it will restore that zoom state next time the report is open. This is on user level though.

Hope this helps. Regards, Falko

Thank you so much for your time and reply,

So you mean to say that if we add custom graphs, no zoom In options for the
area right, but what if we add shape files to the least Geo Granularity,
will that work.
