Do you just have a pure Viya environment then with SAS Studio 4.x?

We are running Sas studio on Viya - I would like to know how to define libnames such that when users login they are predefined.

Similar to defining them in metadata .

The option we are using at the moment is defining them in the autoexec. Is there a better way ?

thanks

Yes, defining these in SAS metadata is best practice in my opinion. You then get the ability to use metadata permissions as well. I'm assuming this capability is available in SAS Viya though.

Yes that's right. You can still run base SAS from sas studio and refer to libnames etc. I don't know if there is a better way that defining the libnames in the autoexec, but it has the disadvantage of needing to have the (encrypted) passwords in the file .

I received below answer from TS:

SAS Studio is very much like the SAS Display Manager environment if you are not using CAS in that you need to assign the LIBNAME statements either in your code or in the autoexec file
