Hello,

I fit a regression model that included categorical predictors. For one of the predictors, Race, the levels were white black and other. I made other my reference level. Now if I want to calculate the outcome variable with an individual who is categorized as 'other' what value do I plug into the equation? Do i plug in 0 for both race = black and race = white?

This is the general equation

STA= α+β1(age)+β2(Gender) +β3(Race=Black) +β4(Race=White) +β5(Sys)

Thanks for any help!

Other would mean B3=0 and B4=0 so you only have the B1, B2 & B5 + intercept terms.

You may find the ODDSRATIO statement helpful, because you can specify the levels of interest easily.
