I'm trying to write my first Task in SAS Studio 5.1, running SAS Viya on Linux.

For some reason, we have two SAS Studio versions - 4.4 and 5.1.

I'd like to create a Task in SAS Studio 5.1 , but when I click New menu, I only see these options -- and Task isn't one of them. Do I need special authorization to create a New Task, and if so, what permission do I ask my SAS admin for?

As a bonus question, when I run SAS Studio 4.4, I can see the New Task option, and I can create a new task...

... but after saving it as .ctm file, I couldn’t edit the template code again. Instead, it opens as .ctk file in Studio, and I can't figure out how to view/edit template code again.

Even after saving it to My Tasks, I don’t have Edit option. Is that another permission issue?

Thanks!

I think I figured this out. Sorry, but I'm a SAS Viya and SAS Studio noob.

I could not see Task pane because I had somehow set my “perspective” to Interactive.

Under the Options menu, I changed Perspective to Standard, and the Task pane (I yellow-highlighted it below) appears!
