      <title>Conversion of SAS dataset from SPSS dataset in file size</title>

      <description>I am a new learner in SAS programming.  I have saved a SPSS dataset (about 10MB containing 90000 observations with 300 columns of data fields).  However, when I read such dataset in SAS, the file size as saved is about 10 times the original.&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
e.g.&lt;BR /&gt;
SAVE TRANSLATE OUTFILE='d:\test.sas7bdat'&lt;BR /&gt;
  /TYPE=SAS /VERSION=7 /PLATFORM=WINDOWS /MAP /REPLACE .&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
Please advise me how to read it smaller.  Thank you.</description>
