      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;The test statement in proc model (as in other SAS procs) is for testing constraints on the parameters of the model - not for testing characteristics of the variables themselves. The most straightforward way to test for the equality of standard deviations would be with proc ttest.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
