Accessing network drives/ Windows Active Directory when running batch jobs

Happy Friday all-

So my question of the day is this-

I am forced to currently run batch jobs on occasion using the windows scheduler on my local PC (as there is no PC SAS server). The problem happens when the network essentially logs me out-which happens at random intervals for network engineers to upgrade and do their routine services.

So the batch will run but can no longer access the network as necessary. Is there a way to embed the windows network login information into my SAS program to accomplish this task.

The task scheduler in both XP and Windows 7 Pro include the capability to run a task when the user is logged off. The syntax is different by it is just a check box about 'run only when user is logged on'.

Another thing that wasnt fully apparent (at least for us) was to use the UNC paths addresses for any libnames on the network instead of mapping drive letters. If you are not logged in the mapping is not used.

Not sure if this is the issue or not but wanted to chime in just in case.
