For e.g <BR /> AA , BB , BC &amp; so on....<BR /> <BR /> My problem is Of some 30 lakhs such variables i have in my data few are having only one digit . For eg. A . <BR /> <BR /> I need to manintain 2 digit length in character format.<BR /> So if its just 'A' then i need to have these observations as 'AX' or like<BR /> <BR /> Zw. format doesn't work since it needs Numeric variable to start with whereas I have a character variable.
