topic How to convert a dataset to SAS6.0 version with more than 8 byte variables in SAS Procedures

I have a dataset needs to be convert to SAS6 version. I know it is just a simple v6 option in Libname.

I have quite few variables which have more than 8 byte length names, I don't want to rename them to 8 byte or less using 'Rename' or Array. Is there a easy way?

Thanks!

If not made clear, the document states that there is not circumvention other than to truncate the variable names to 8 characters or change the names in your current SAS version to 8 or less to avoid the automatic truncation when creating the SAS v6 format library file.
