topic Bizarre Sort Behavior on a Time Dimension in OLAP Cube in SAS Procedures

We're experiencing a weird result when viewing a cube with a time dimension in both Web OLAP Viewer and Enterprise Guide.

Setup:
SAS 9.2
EG 4.2
Web OLAP Viewer for Java 4.2

We've got a time dimension set up as Year > Quarter > Month > Day. Let's say the pool of values for the variable of interest spans May 2009 - June 2010. Here's the display/sort order that the viewers are giving us:

2009
--2
-----May
-----June
-----April
--3
-----July
-----August
-----September
--4
-----October
-----November
-----December
2010
--2
-----May
-----June
-----April
--3
-----July
-----August
-----September
--4
-----October
-----November
-----December
--1
-----January
-----February
-----March

to say the least, this is out of order. It appears it first sorts based on the data it first sees in 2009, and then puts new values seen in the levels for 2010 at the end. Anyone got any thoughts on this? We're using the time type for the dimension. Ask away for any additional you think pertinent. Thanks in advance.

Hi:
Folks don't use many (if any) SAS procedures with OLAP cubes, since they generally run or are used in the context of the SAS Enterprise Intelligence Platform. You might get more responses if you posted this to the Web Report Studio forum (I know that you're not using the cube, in WRS, but the OLAP folks are more likely to be hanging out over in that forum. You could also try this in the SAS Enterprise Guide forum, but I expect you'll have better luck with the WRS folks than the EG folks.)

Or, you could try working directly with Tech Support. To open a track with Tech Support, go to:
http://support.sas.com/ctx/supportform/createForm
