“And just like any company that blissfully ignored the Internet at the turn of the century, the ones that dismiss the Internet of Things risk getting left behind.” — Jared Newman

The SAS IoT Enablement team goal is to improve our user experience by showing current trends in Internet of Things (IoT). In this video, we provide an overview of the IoT Reference Architecture in context of using IoT in tandem with SAS Event Stream Processing (ESP). The presentation highlights:

ESP Integration

ESP in the Cloud

ESP use cases for Hot, Warm and Cold path data

ESP Edge Analytics

Deploying ESP to the Edge

Additional IoT Reference Architecture can be found on the SAS GitLab. These assets contain a detailed architecture diagram and go over a variety of modular architectures like hot, warm and cold paths for the data, security considerations when connecting devices to the cloud, scalability / availability of the IoT solutions and at scale deployment of the IoT solution. These assets and the video should be a good starting point to begin building IoT solutions with ESP.
