      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you're using the already-projected maps.us, you can use the x/y from maps.uscenter.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you're using some other US map, you could use the centroid macro to estimate the center x/y.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Also, gmap has a built-in "block" map that will place a bar at the center of each map area.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;A href="http://support.sas.com/documentation/cdl/en/graphref/63022/HTML/default/viewer.htm#gmpsimpl-ex.htm" title="http://support.sas.com/documentation/cdl/en/graphref/63022/HTML/default/viewer.htm#gmpsimpl-ex.htm"&gt;SAS/GRAPH(R) 9.2: Reference, Second Edition&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
