proc gslide gseg naming : iback name seems to trump name

I have a number of png graphics. There names are greater than 10-12 charcters for human readability.

I created a table with a shortened, two character name for input into gslide.

%let Status=ReallyLongName;

%let xtype=NM;

goptions reset=all device=png300 nodisplay

xmax=7in ymax=4in;

goptions iback="&outdir./&Status..png" imagestyle=fit;

proc gslide gout=graph.call name="&xtype";

run; quit;

The resulting entry in graph.call is:

"NMReallyLo"

Is there a way to override the output name in the catalog to be the short, two character name specified?

This looks like a big fat bug and should be reported to Tech Support.

To work around it, you can run proc catalog after the entry is saved and change the entry name.
