      <title>How to share tables between EG and Excel</title>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;First time caller. &lt;img id="smileyhappy" class="emoticon emoticon-smileyhappy" src="https://communities.sas.com/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.png" alt="Smiley Happy" title="Smiley Happy" /&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I'm new to SAS and have successfully create several tables under the Work library through EG, but when I try to use them through the EXCEL plugin I do not see them as available. &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I use the connection below:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;connect to netezza&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;(server= xxxx database = xxxx user=me password=mypwd connection=global);&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Create table weekly_report_table as&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;select&amp;nbsp; from connection to netezza (select * from weekly_report_table order by 1,2);&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Is there a way tables persistent so both sessions can see them?&amp;nbsp; Or do i need to specify another more permanent library to put the tables in?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Tom&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Yes, if you want to see the tables in another session (of EG or through the SAS Add-In for Office), you will need to put the tables into a permanent library.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The WORK library is temporary, and is specific to the SAS session you are working in.&amp;nbsp; Each *instance* of a client application (SAS Enterprise Guide or SAS Add-In for MS Office) will create/use a *new* SAS session with its own WORK library.&amp;nbsp; That's good for avoiding contention, but it restricts your ability to share "transient" data.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Chris&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
