topic EG 4.2 "&prompts" in SAS Enterprise Guide

Is

the need toenclose certain type of prompts (dates, text) in " " when using them in SQL programs a bug or a deliberate change for

4.1?

It would seem to remove a lot of the flexibility of certain types of prompts, particularly text.
Where previously I

could pass a formated parameter of 'a123', 'b123', etc and perform actions such as WHERE id_num IN (&my_prompt) the need to use "

" turns the entire set into a single string (it would seem)
