If you are using SAS Enterprise Guide, it has a Parameter Manager, which builds macro variables behind the scenes for you to use. In order to use the parameters as pieces of the file name, you may need to edit the code that EG generates. If you are going to edit the code, then you may just want to learn about using SAS Macro variables to do what you want to do. This is a screen shot of 3 macro variables being created with %LET statements.
