EG 8.4 local session: How to change config to run with Unicode support

Hi all,

Do you know where to change the EG config so local sessions use SAS with Unicode support?

Here what I've currently got:

I want to point -config to path ...\SASFoundation\9.4\nls\u8\sasv9.cfg but can't figure out where to actually change this.

Right now I just replaced the sasv9.cfg under ...\SASFoundation\9.4 which lets me spawn sessions with Unicode support but I'd prefer to "do it right".

Hi @Patrick,

That is the right way to do it, or at least it's the easiest way to make it stick.

You could also change the SAS Workspace 1.0 entry in the Windows registry:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\WOW6432Node\CLSID\{440196D4-90F0-11D0-9F41-00A024BB830C}\LocalServer32

I tried changing the registry but didn't have sufficient permissions so replacing the .cfg it is.
