Thank you, Paige! Believe me. I wish my Professor worded his questions better, too! that's why I'm always asking on message forums 😂

Thank you for your help. PROC GLM , got it.

Most of the time when discussing independent and dependent the question is which independent variables are significant in predicting the dependent. Dependent can be thought of a result. So I think you need to expound a little on what you are actually doing.

Many users here don't want to download Excel files because of virus potential, others have such things blocked by security software. Also if you give us Excel as data we have to create a SAS data set and due to the non-existent constraints on Excel data cells the result we end up with may not have variables of the same type (numeric or character) and even values that you use.

@LABRADOR wrote:

Using the site as the independent variable and al, fe, mg, ca, and na as the dependent variables, what univariate ANOVAs are statistically significant?

Wording can be improved here ... ANOVAs are not significant, they are simply calculations; the effect of the independent variable on the dependent variable is significant or not.

How do I test for statistical significance in SAS 9.4?

PROC GLM would be where I would start.

Thank you for your insight. This class is structured purely around SAS Enterprise Guide. However, I wish it was strictly being taught in SAS 9.4. I feel I would be learning the basics of SAS much better if it were. Importing data into SAS is a big part of the class. I'll make sure to have the Data as a text or SAS file from now on.
