topic Can we read all the user logs from the SAS EG server as a admin to track the status of every user ? in SAS Enterprise Guide

Hi Team,

We are using SAS Enterprise Guide 8.3 in our organization and having around 400 users in total for SAS EG. As a admin can I access the user logs of all the users on daily basis to track the usage of SAS Enterprise Guide and login status for admin reporting purpose?

Any help on this much appreciated.

thanks in advance.

You can use the SAS Metadata Server logs to track user logins.

By default EG logs are not captured and stored in a central location. You would have to configure the SAS Workspace server the EG users connect to so you can capture the logs. I've never tried it myself but possibly the ALTLOG SAS option could be used for this. Please bear in mind that this will create a performance overhead which may be noticeable.
