Most likely it's user error and you applied the filter incorrectly or it has a format applied and you're seeing the formatted values not the true values.

I have a dataset and I would like to filter it by setting a lower limit value of an interval variable. While I am pretty sure this variable has values lower than the threshold. But the filter function does not exclude any data....Any idea why could this happen?

How do you filter (Filter and Sort, Query Builder or user written code)?

Anyway, please post the code that was sent to the server.

I figured it out that I need to specify user-specified in the variable window even though I have changed the default method to user-specified....
