How does Enterprise Guide 8.2 behave when only using a Viya workspace Server?

Hi,

I am wondering about SAS Enterprise guide version 8.2 . The documentation states:

In SAS Enterprise Guide, you can connect directly to a SAS 9 or SAS Viya workspace server.

Does this mean that you if you got rid of SAS9.4 , and only had SAS viya , then would you still be able to run SAS EG?

Would an EG project that previously worked with a sas 9.4 metatdata connection still work if you only had Viya workspace connection?

or if not, then what are the things that would work with SAS9.4 , but wouldn't work with SAS Viya.
