Yesterday, I got a notification that there was an update available for EG 8.1 (64-bit). I selected the Update option and it installed successfully. Our OS is Windows 10 Enterprise 1703.

When trying to run a program following the update, the SAS log does not populate correctly - no text shows. Also the standard Windows dialog pops up - EG encountered a problem and has to close. Re-opening EG, rebooting PC makes no difference. The same problems continue.

I have had to uninstall EG and reinstall the original EG 8.1 to get back up and running.

Just wondering if anyone else has encountered similar problems.

EG 8.1 Update 1 was recently released (last week... 8/20). I have not seen or heard any reports of the issue you describe. If you had EG logging turned on when the problem occurred, please send me the EG log and we'll investigate (it should have additional details about the unexpected error).

If others encounter, please let us know asap (post back here and/or contact SAS Tech Support), so we can get more info, debug, and resolve.

Thanks,

@CaseySmith - Finally got around to testing the upgrade again on the same computer and got the same problem. Please find attached the requested EG log. There is an EG crash event at the end.

I've also done the same upgrade on another PC and that was fine, so it is obviously something specific to the problem laptop causing the problem.
