Yes Perhaps.
Because I see the password in the project doesn't work with scheduling. It asks for a password every time it opens, even though you tick "remember password". So this is not working. I have now moved it to a limited access folder. Will see how it goes.

Hi,

Is there a way to put a password on a whole SAS EG project?

Thanks.

Yes. Select File->Project Properties, then the Security tab.

Heed the note: once you apply the password, there is no opening the project without it. SAS Tech Support can't even help with that. We recommend that you create a backup and store in a safe place...you know, just in case.

Even if it's possible, I think it should be avoided. Use folder authorization instead.
Just out of curiosity, why do you find a project secret, you haven't typed in passwords in clear text there, have you?

Yeah its a pity. I am also looking for a 2 step protection like you can with Excel files.

I want to lock a project for editing, but want users to be able to view it still.

Hi @GenDemo - the only way to manage that is to place the EGP file in a folder where its users have just read-only access. That will force a read-only mode on the project when they open it.
