While Enterprise Guide has scheduling capabilities, I and a lot of other people recommend against using it for scheduling production jobs. This is because there's a complicated chain of components that all need to work right for your job to succeed.

DIS is a SAS product that is designed to be used for production processes, with many capabilities built in. It would make an excellent choice if your production processes need to be certain to run.
