MS SQL Date to SAS DATE

Hi Team,

When import the data from MS SQL Date field (with Date type) to SAS , system converting automatically as Character type, kindly let me know is there any setting which i am missing

Hello @Amarnadh,

what version of SQL Server have you got? And How are you connecting to it (ODBC, OLEDB, Access to SQL Server)?

There is a known issue in SQL Server 2008 if connecting with OLE DB http://support.sas.com/kb/39/188.html

It is also know for the same, connecting with ODBC: http://support.sas.com/kb/40/080.html

Do a google search for "sas import MS SQL date" and see if the results are helpful. The two KB articles mentioned by @JuanS_OCS will also pop up, and several related posts here on the communities.
