Enterprise Guide for Dummies question

Hello:
I am writing from SFU in the Vancouver area.
This university has been permitted to make
SAS 9.1.3 and Enterprise Reporter 9.1available for
student use.
I ordered the SAS Dummies Book by Chris and
Stephen, can anyone indicate if there is a temporary
free trial of SAS Enterprise Guide so I can work
through this book since program not available through
the university.
Any advice on source of a demo version gratefully accepted.

There is a difference between Enterprise Reporter and Enterprise Guide. I assume you mean SAS Enterprise Guide.

Students can get copies of the SAS Learning Edition at a discount in order to learn SAS and SAS Enterprise Guide, as described here:

and as a student, you are able to purchase a downloadable version of SAS Learning Edition for a discounted price through e-Academy. This offer is for the software only (no book):

Before buying Learning Edition or the other possible solutions that Cynthia mentioned, check with your SFU computer support people. It may be that you already have a license for EG, but IT is not distributing it with SAS 9.1.3 (Our IT does not include it in the standard student distribution -- it involves a separate install, 2 additional CDs, and is not (yet) Vista aware.).
