Temp .TXT files

Hi guys

I noticed that when I import some .txt files using the File >> Import with the wizzard, SAS creates some .txt copy's of the files on my C:\Temp folder, something like C:\Temp\SEG4448\8a7b2be766a54265954f93808a329ea8.txt.

After importing the data en converted it into sas format file, can I delete those temp files without any problems?

Hi @anonymous_user,

Yes, those temporary files can be safely deleted. I'm fairly certain you can delete them immediately after running the Import Wizard, since it appears they are re-created each time. However, to be extra safe, you may want to wait until after you close the EG session, just to make sure the files are no longer in use.
