Saving & Viewing Log using SAS Enterprise Guide 6.1

Hi,

I just switched from old SAS (SAS AIX Windows) to Windows 8 SAS Enterprise Guide 6.1

Typically, I run my SAS programs in interactive mode. I used to use the following commands to save both the Log and contents of the Output to files to look at them later.

dm log 'file "&base_dir_path./Output/&exportname..log" replace';
dm lst 'file "&base_dir_path./Output/&exportname..lst" replace';

With SAS Enterprise Guide 6.1, DM (Display Manager) isn't available. As I would like to view the log AND save the log in a file, the PROC PRINTTO doesn't fit my needs. I tried searching the SAS Community but couldn't find a solution for interactive SAS.

Can someone please guide me? Many thanks!

Hi,

When you are in Enterprise Guide the default is to have the logs over write everytime you run code as you noticed it gets deleted when you leave EG. To change this there is a Project Log at the top of the process flow window. Click that button, then you can turn on the project log. The log gets saved in the EG project when project is saved. There options to export or send the log as well.
