Thanks for the reply -

this is the stack that we got from SAS as a company.

Do you think I will be able to get the newer version just like that? Even if I can, I will need to remove everything and then re-install the full thing right?

sas foundation, miner for desktop, guide etc.

Kind Regards

Hi all,

I am trying to run Enterprise Guide 4.3 on my local machine, but whenever I try to connect to the local server I get the below error.

I can launch sas 9.2 without any errors. works perfectly fine. Also Enterprise Miner Desktop Client works normally. But EG does not connect to the local server and gets the following error. I have gone through the existing posts for similar cases but could not resolve my problem. Can anybody help me with this?

A connection could not be made to the requested resource

Details:

Server execution failed

------------------------------ Technical Information Follows ------------------------------

SAS.EG.SDS.SDSException: Server execution failed
---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80080005): Server execution failed

at SASObjectManager.ObjectFactoryMulti2Class.CreateObjectByServer(String Name, Boolean synchronous, ServerDef pIServerDef, String LoginName, String Password)
at SAS.EG.SDS.Model.Server.Connect(ConnectionInfo connInfo)
--- End of inner exception stack trace ---
at SAS.EG.SDS.Model.Server.Connect(ConnectionInfo connInfo)
at SAS.EG.SDS.Model.Server.SASWorkspace()
at SAS.EG.SDS.Views.View.DoPopulate(DisplayOperation& op)

------------------------------ End of Technical Information ------------------------------

I am also posting my configuration details:

--- SAS Software ---
SAS Enterprise Guide version: 4.3.0.10196
SAS System version: 9.21300.19370.56474
SAS System Command: c:\progra~1\sas\sasfou~1\9.2\sas.exe -config "c:\program files\sas\sasfoundation\9.2\sasv9.cfg" -objectserver -nologo -noterminal -noxcmd
SAS Shared Files: C:\Program Files\SAS\SharedFiles(32)
JMP Installation:

Since you are trying this as a stand alone install, I would suggest trying SAS 9.4 instead, instead of investing time in this quite old version.
