topic How to Display a Stored Process Custom Input HTML Form in Enterprise Guide? in SAS Enterprise Guide

Hello, we have a custom input HTML form (a JSP file stored as a _FORM parameter in the prompt tab) that we would like to use in Enterprise Guide. We already use custom input HTML forms in the SAS Stored Process Web Application, but this is our first attempt to do something similar on the desktop. The issue is that the datasets we want to work with are very large, so doing this in the browser, as we have done with our other custom input forms, would time out. Opening the stored process that works in the browser (other than the time-out issue) brings up the address for the custom input form, but not the form itself. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you.

as far as I've seen you cannot do this from EG or a desktop... perhaps you should limit your data pull to the HTML form. If you have to edit many sets of data perhaps your better able to do so by automated processes.

Thank you for answering, Tim! SAS Technical Support said the same thing (below) when I asked them, but they also had a helpful suggestion in terms of running the program online without timing out:

"Here are some comments and suggestions.

1. It is not possible to create a custom form for a stored process if you run the

stored process using Enterprise Guide. So, if you need to have a custom form, you

would need to run the stored process using the SAS Stored Process Web Application.

2. You said:

     > The issue is that the datasets we want to work with are very large, so doing this in the browser,

     > as we have done with our other custom input forms, would time out.

You can increase the timeout setting for the SAS Stored Process Web Application.

Then, it should not time out.

    See Usage Note 34167.
