topic How to import Excel file if a column has data both in character & number? in SAS Enterprise Guide

Hi,

If data in a column in an Excel file contains both character and numbers (say some are name and some are id), when EG performs import, either only numbers appears or characters characters, not both, rest appearing as “.” (depending upon what one choose in the column options, character or numeric). Is there a way to import both character and number in the same column?

Thanks.
