SAS EG error

Hi All,

I am getting the below error in SAS EG 4.2 when I tried to open it. EG has been just fine since many days and sudeenly the below error started popping up.

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program C:\Program Files\SAS/Enterprise Guide\SEguide.exe

The application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way, Please contact the application support team for more information.

Does anyone know about the aboive error message? I searced in many online blogs, but didnt get a reasonable solution.

It is possible that the Visual C++ runtime you have was updated by a security patch, and is now out of sync with some of the SAS Enterprise Guide modules.

A couple of years ago there was a service pack issued from Microsoft that updated these libraries and fixed the security issue. But the modules from SAS that rely on the Microsoft runtime also needed to be rebuilt, and they were -- as part of subsequent SAS-issued hotfixes. So make sure that you also have the latest hotfixes for SAS Enterprise Guide 4.2.

Note that your situation could be the other way around as well: you have the latest SAS hotfixes, but not the updated runtime security fix from Microsoft. If you have trouble determining the cause, you should work with SAS Technical Support on this.
