Hello @Amarnadh,

are we talking about a windows or a linux server?

In any case, the short answer is yes. They can be started/stopped as command line or as service. Of course, due to the specific OS there will be some differences. As good example, on Linux deployments SAS offers the sas.servers script under SAS/Config/Lev1.

http://support.sas.com/documentation/cdl/en/bisag/64088/HTML/default/viewer.htm#a003280355.htm

http://documentation.sas.com/?docsetId=bisag&docsetTarget=n11hox4i2tgybvn1omal5elwlv5k.htm&docsetVersion=9.4&locale=en

http://documentation.sas.com/?docsetId=bisag&docsetTarget=p0d9d5nzmd8i4yn1usv2l22vpa7t.htm&docsetVersion=9.4&locale=en

But you can create any of your own, just following the right order. Some examples:

Our fellow colleague @Kalind_Patel shared his for Windows: https://communities.sas.com/t5/Administration-and-Deployment/Start-Stop-all-SAS-Services-using-batch-file-Windows/td-p/314277

Another share: https://github.com/scottbass/Powershell/blob/master/Scripts/Restart-SAS-Services.ps1

And for Unix/Linux, my best advise is to use the ones provided by SAS (sas.servers) or the tool provided by SAS Technical Support generated by this tool: http://ftp.sas.com/techsup/download/ts-tools/external/SASTSST_UNIX_installation.sh

Of course, each version will have its own pros and cons, regarding quality of the service and checks. I will let you decide to select the option that suits you better in your organization.

Hope it helps,

Kind regards,

Hi Friends,

As a thumb rule, go to services to start and stop all the servers, while stop metadata server should stop last, and while start metadata server mandatory to start first

Here my question is :-Can it be done by command script? , if yes required steps to execute

Amarnadh
