SAS CI Studio 6.6

Good day

We are using SAS CI Studio 6.6 (SAS 9.4 on Linux) and I need to know who I can call API's to send or receive data from within SAS CI Studio.

We use custom code in Stored Procs to run Service Calls and I am sure we could include code to call an API (how would we do this?) - but need to know if this is possible in CI Studio using functionality in CI Studio and not custom code.

All the blogs I have seen so far relating to CI Studio and API's are in SAS Viya - so does this mean we need to upgrade to SAS Viya to take advantage of the API integration functionality?
