topic Variable fields in Communication definitions in CI studio in SAS Customer Intelligence

Good day, I am wondering if anybody perhaps know if it is possible to have "variable" fields in a communication definition. What I am trying to do is use the output of a stored procedure (called from a custom diagram tool) as input into the communication definition. At this point I understand that any field that gets utilized within the communication definition needs to be declared in the Information Map.

i.e. the stored procedure points to a data source that is not part of the mart and for arguments sake, returns Total Sales Value, which I would like to use in my email copy.

Hope I'm being clear enough in my description of my problem and any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
