I work in a telecom operator and need some help with control group size:

-what is the recommended control group size per marketing campaign? what is the minimum recommended size?

-what about the universal control group? what is the minimum recommended size?

Depends on your population and test/sample size as well.

universal control group: the base is around 1.8 mill and over 70 campaigns are run monthly

per campaign control group: campaign sample/base size varies from 5K to 1 mill

Hi,
You could take a look at Pg 248 of the MA 6.5 user guide, which discusses the use of the statistical size estimator. There are a number of different inputs to deciding the size of the control group - and to do it correctly you should seek the guidance of a statistician or data analyst.
